“It’s time to clear out the drawers! Because every old device can make a difference!”
That was the call to action as One Circle proudly participated in the Grüne Festival on June 21, a vibrant event at The Greek Campus focused on sustainability, circular economy, and greener living. The initiative was proudly led by our partners E-Tadweer and Greest, two key organizations championing environmental responsibility and green innovation in Egypt.
The participants arrived with their electronic waste – from old devices to unused cables – aiming to give them a new life and contribute to a cleaner environment.
At the One Circle booth, festival-goers discovered just how simple it can be to turn electronic waste into immediate value. Here’s how it worked:

It wasn’t just an exchange of devices for rewards; it was a moment of empowerment. People were excited to learn how they could be part of the e-waste solution, while receiving real, tangible benefits in return.
The energy at the booth was electric. Many participants brought multiple old gadgets from home, devices they had long forgotten, and walked away not just lighter, but prouder.

The E-Tadweer team shared tips, answered questions, and helped users navigate the app, turning interest into action.

Egypt generates thousands of tons of e-waste annually, most of which ends up in landfills or informal handling systems. Events like this aim to change that by providing a convenient, rewarding, and trusted system with instant rewards that encourage people to take part in collecting and recycling electronic waste.
By making the process accessible and incentive-based, One Circle is bridging the gap between awareness and action.

About the “One Circle” pilot in Egypt:
The pilot “One Circle”, part of the global “Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains” project, targets the ICT and electronics value chain in Egypt. Its ambition is to create a broad alliance of partners – local SMEs and multinationals – committed to transforming ICT and electronics towards a more responsible development model, for the benefit of society as a whole. Led by UNIDO, Orange, Nokia, and Cordon, and supported on the ground by e-TADWEER and Haya Karima Foundation, the initiative focuses on supporting the adoption of circular economy practices, building local infrastructure to extend the life of ICT and electronics, and creating local capacity-building opportunities for sustainable change.
